RoomSpook Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to RoomSpook LLC (“RoomSpook”).


This Privacy Policy describes our practices with respect to (i) the personal information we gather; (ii) the way we use personal information internally; and (iii) our policy regarding sharing your personal information with others.


We are committed to processing your information in accordance with applicable data protection laws and data protection codes of conduct. We have implemented the practices set out in this Privacy Policy for our website at (“Site”).


This policy addresses our privacy practices relating to visitors to the Site and registered users of the Site. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means any information that, by itself or in combination with other information, identifies or can reasonably be used to identify an individual, such as name, email address, IP address, telephone number, address, or billing information. Personal Information does not include information that is anonymized. The term “Processing” means any operation or set of operations which is performed on Personal Information, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, use, organization, storage, alteration or destruction, disclosure, or transfer. “Data” is defined as any output from the Site relating to a death at a particular location.


By submitting Personal Information and other information to the Site, you consent to the Processing of such information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.


You may withdraw this consent at any time by notifying us at our Contact Form.




Generally, you may browse the Site without providing any Personal Information. However, we may ask that you provide information, including, without limitation, Personal Information, at various times and locations through the Site. For example, Person Information must be collected if you make a one-time or ongoing subscription purchase of Data, such as your name and email address provided by the payment processor. We will never collect your credit card information. We may collect and store other Personal Information you input into the Site. Also, when purchasing a RoomSpook Report, or when receiving a RoomSpook Report, you could be asked if you want to opt-in to email advertising. This is strictly voluntary. In addition to relying on your consent to our Processing activities, Processing may be necessary for (i) our performance of a contract to which you are party or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, (ii) the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us or by a third party, or (iii) any other lawful basis.




We use appropriate technical, organizational and administrative security measures to protect your Personal Information when you transmit it from your computer to the Site and to protect such information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. We update and test our security technology on an ongoing basis. We restrict access to your Personal Information to those employees who need to know that information to respond to your requests or provide services to you. In addition, we train our employees about the importance of confidentiality and maintaining the privacy and security of your Personal Information. You should keep in mind that no Internet transmission is ever 100% secure or error-free. Email sent to or from the Site may not be secure, and you should therefore take special care in deciding what information you send to us via email. Where you use passwords, ID numbers, or other special access features on the Site, it is your responsibility to safeguard them.




If you opt-in to receive advertising from us, the Personal Information collected and provided by and through the Site may be used by us, individually or in an aggregate form, to:


  • contact you about the Site;

  • notify you about important changes to the Site;

  • evaluate products or services we could offer to you;

  • monitor or improve use of the Site;

  • compare and otherwise use data entered by visitors for any purpose including consulting, research and marketing;

  • customize any advertising and content you see on the Site;

  • advertise on third party websites;

  • provide specific information to you from us and/or our affiliates; and

  • send you promotional material from us and/or our affiliates.




If you would like us to correct your Personal Information or other information, provide you with a copy of the Personal Information that we hold about you, erase the Personal Information that we hold about you, or otherwise, wish to be removed from our marketing, sales or employment lists, as applicable, please contact us through our Contact Form. We will respond to any such requests within 30 days of receipt.


California residents are entitled to ask us for a notice identifying the categories of Personal Information which we share with our affiliates and/or third parties for marketing purposes, and to provide contact information for such affiliates and/or third parties. Your Personal Information is stored by us on our servers, and on the servers of the cloud-based database management services we engage, located in the United States. Personal information will be stored for as long as the information is required to fulfill our legitimate business needs or the purposes for which the Personal Information was collected, as long as we have a lawful basis for Processing, or for such period as is required by law.




We do not rent or sell your Personal Information to anyone. We may share and disclose information (including Personal Information) about visitors of our Site in the following limited circumstances:


Vendors, consultants and other service providers: We may share your Personal Information with third party vendors, consultants and other service providers who we employ to perform tasks on our behalf. These companies include (for example) our website analytics companies (e.g., Google Analytics), CRM service providers (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation service providers (e.g., Salesforce through its Pardot business unit) banner advertising service providers and others.


Disclosures for National Security or Law Enforcement: Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your Personal Information in response to valid requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.




We gather information such as the visitor’s type of browser and operating system being used and visitor’s computer’s IP address. While visiting the Site, we take note of which pages of the Site are being viewed, when, and for how long. This information helps us to improve the design of our Site and to learn what type of information our visitors are finding most helpful or interesting. Information is only gathered while the visitor is within, and although we record how a visitor arrives at the Site, we do not gather other information about any other non-RoomSpook websites that have been visited before or after the visit to the Site.


Under certain circumstances, we may gather online advertising IDs, location data, and unique device identifiers.




We maintain a log file of all actions that are initiated or facilitated using the Site, to capture, record and store data concerning the transaction. Access to this data is restricted to those who administer our network and public Site, except that we may use and disclose this information to third parties in response to legal process or law enforcement inquiries, abuse of our Site, or violation of any applicable Terms of Service or contractual provision you may have with us.




RoomSpook does not use cookies. If it did, it would be in order for its servers to recognize a return visitor as a unique user. These cookies are small text files placed on your computer as directed by your web browser and allow for RoomSpook’s systems to later recognize the visitor. Our cookies are encrypted, so that they are not readily available for use by third parties. These cookies do not access, read or modify any other data on a visitor’s computer.




We may also utilize Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, to better understand your use of our Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the Site, what pages they visit, and they arrived at the Site. Google uses the data collected to track and examine the use of the Site, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services. Google may use the data collected on the Site to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the Site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. Google offers an opt-out mechanism for the web available here.




The Site may contain links to other third-party websites. When you click on one of those links, you are visiting a website operated by someone other than us and the operator of that website may have a different privacy policy and/or terms of use. We are not responsible for their individual privacy practices or the content of such websites, so we encourage you to investigate the privacy policies of such third-party operators. Your use of those websites will be governed by the privacy policies and/or terms of use applicable to those websites.




Our Site is not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to us through the Site. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not access, use, or provide any information on the Site or on or through any of its features. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Information that was input by a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information. While every effort and measure is taken to reduce the risk of data breaches, we have dedicated controls and procedures in place for such situations, along with the procedures that are required to make notifications to the relevant Supervisory Authority and data subjects (where applicable).




California and Delaware law require companies doing business in those States to indicate whether it honors “Do Not Track” settings in your browser concerning targeted advertising. “Do Not Track” is a standard that is currently under development. As it is not yet finalized, we adhere to the standards set out in this Privacy Policy and do not monitor or respond to Do Not Track browser requests.




We’re constantly trying to improve our Site, so we may need to change this Privacy Policy from time to time as well. You can see when this Privacy Policy was last updated by checking the date at the top of this page. You are responsible for periodically reviewing this Privacy Policy.
